Find The Right Space

Beautifully restored to its original 1926 condition, the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center is the perfect place to hold conferences, small meetings, receptions and other events*.

Our temporary gallery and other exhibition spaces enhance the experience of those participating in your event. Boasting state of the art audio and video capabilities, the Heritage Center’s auditorium and classrooms are plug-in ready with free high-speed broadband Internet access. There is also an on-site catering kitchen equipped with full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher.

Rent the entire facility, the auditorium or a classroom for your event.

Room fees are calculated based on the entire reservation time, including time required for set-up and cleanup. Rental minimum is two hours. For events that occur after 5 pm or on weekends, there is an additional fee of $25/hr for JSAAHC security personnel. A minimum of one security person is required for all events.

* Unfortunately, we are not equipped to accommodate weddings.

The Isabella Gibbons Local History Center

 The Isabella Gibbons Local History Center is equipped with dry erase boards, a 42 inch smart TV, tables, and chairs. Ideal for meetings and small events.

The Auditorium is an all purpose space that can be used for lectures, banquets, receptions and meetings. It accommodates up to 200 for a lecture or performance and up to 120 for a seated meal. It features a state of the art audio/video system including:

Our More Intimate Spaces

Classroom A

seats up to 48 people and is equipped with a projection screen, dry erase boards, video/data projection system, and wireless network.

The Alumni Room

has soft seating and high-top tables. Available for small receptions of 15-20 people. This is an intimate space for midsized meetings.

Green Room

For small meeting or cocktail parties. Leather couches and meeting table that seat 10. Independent PA system and 42'' smart TV. Conferencing capability is available.
